Coolidge School opened its doors in September of 1932. At that time the school cost $80,000 to build and had just 6 classrooms. Over the past 75 years we have continued to grow and flourish as a school and as a district.

Were you a part of this Coolidge history?  Did you attend Coolidge School any time between 1932 and today?  We would love to hear about your thoughts and memories?

Coolidge History

Built in 1906 this was the original school in Wyckoff, simply called Wyckoff Public School. With only 4 rooms it served 5th-8th grades. After a fire destroyed this building, George Washington School was built on this site.

Construction began on Coolidge School in 1931.  Above is the earliest picture that we have of the beginnings of our school.

Coolidge School opened in 1932 and was built for just $80,000 to serve the students of East Wyckoff.  There were originally six classrooms, but additions in 1948 and 1958 added 10 more.

Coolidge School has gone through a number of transformations since its first ground-breaking.  Over the years, trees have been planted and continue to flourish today.

This was the very first public library in Wyckoff, housing a mere 600 books, mostly donated from residents. The current library on Woodland Avenue was build in 1970.

How many of you recognize Route 208?  Formerly known as the Arcola-Oakland Highway S-4, the current highway as we know it today was partially completed in 1949 and finished in 1959.
