Physical Education Philosophy
The physical education classroom is an atmosphere that promotes living a healthy and active lifestyle. The students are educated and given an opportunity to practice concepts and exercises that promote fitness, movement concepts, and activities that build eye-foot coordination and eye-hand coordination. There is an emphasis on cooperative learning and displaying good sportsmanship in all situatiions.
The content taught and reinforced through activity in the physical education classroom meet the New Jersey State Standards for Comprehensive Physical Education:
Standard 2.2 - Integrated Skills
Standard 2.5 - Motor Skill Development
Standard 2.6 - Fitness
P.E. Proper Footwear Policy:
Sneakers are needed to participate in the physical education classroom. Proper footwear includes sneakers that tie, strap, or zip. (Basketball, Running, Tennis, Skateboarding shoes, etc.) Rubber soled shoes with front straps with front and heel coverage are also acceptable.
Shoes that are not included are: any style of boot (Uggs, snow, rain, Timberland, etc) Dress shoes with any heel lift, no front coverage. No sandals, crocs, and flip-flops.
