Star StudentsEvery day Eisenhower students prove that television can have a positive impact on education. ETV, Eisenhower's morning television show, gives students an opportunity to become School Stars and realize the full potential of television as an educational tool. ETV shows feature students interviewing other students, teachers, administrators and community leaders. Pre-recorded, student produced features focusing on Eisenhower students and staff and the Wyckoff community are also an integral part of the show.
Students shine in front of the cameras and behind the scenes. Eighth-grade students host the show, read announcements, produce and present features, interview guests, run the cameras, computers and other equipment used to produce a daily show. Language skills, technology skills, people skills, planning and teamwork are all part of the equation that equals a successful morning show. The ETV crew stays sharp because they know that they are performing for an audience of nearly 900 Eisenhower students and staff.
TV continues to have a tremendous impact on our culture and ETV continues to have a tremendous impact on the culture of Eisenhower. The outstanding achievements of students, faculty and community members are presented to and shared with the entire school daily. ETV has interviewed student government officers, team captains, school club members and students involved in community service. ETV has also presented the exemplary work of sixth, seventh and eighth-grade students. This sharing of outstanding achievements and exemplary work helps Eisenhower communicate high standards to all its students. In addition, the value of the acknowledgment students receive from their peers after an ETV appearance is priceless.
Every morning at Eisenhower TV is a powerful learning tool because students not only watch ETV, they are also ETV's School Stars. It's easy to see that the E in ETV stands for Eisenhower, but it also stands for Educational.
