The Game
By Kristen

It's 2-2 and there's 10
seconds left.
There she goes, fast
as lightning,
speeding down the field
with the ball
7..!
6!
5..!
4.!
3!
Swoosh, the ball is soaring
through the air.
Will it go in the net?
YES!
Goal!
WE WON!

What Christmas Means
By Kristen

The birth of Christ
Holiday cheer
Candy canes
Almost New Year.

A Christmas tree
With a star on top
A lot to shop for
Shop 'til you drop.

Christmas decorations
Mistletoe above the door
Holiday garland
And snowflakes galore.

There are stockings by the chimney,
There are presents under the tree.
Some presents are for my mom and dad
And others are for my family.

Then there's Christmas Eve when my family
Gets together and eats a lot of food.
This year I want
The computer game Snood.

Christmas Day is of course my favorite
Where we open presents from our stockings and from under the tree,
Then we go to my grandma's house
And exchange presents with my family.

Christmas means a lot of things
Like how important family is
And it's the birth of Christ,
Christmas Day is His.

Fall
By Kristen

The crisp autumn
air feels good against my
face.

I step outside and look
around to see orange, yellow,
brown, and gold leaves.
Fall leaves.

The leaves soon begin to
fall and they swoosh and flutter
to the ground.

They are then raked into big
piles and kids have fun
screaming and jumping in.

But these are only
signs that winter
is coming.

Under My Bed
By Kristen

A soccer ball,
A baseball glove,
Some shin guards
And some cleats

Candy wrappers,
A bag of chips,
And wow!
Some Nerds to eat.

There's also a slipper
Missing its pair
And ewwwwww..Underwear!
How did it get there?

Hey, there's my social studies book
And Chinese Cinderella, too.
I think I see my second grade math book
And some pens and pencils, too.

Hey, there's my missing sock!
And there is the combination to my lock.
A wig, a pig,
And something big.

An old computer game
A magazine about fame
A pair of boots
And hey, all my Halloween loot!

Ohhh
And there's the outfit I never wear.
And ewww.it looks like someone's hair.
I think I see make-up
And a bottle of Coke I could shake up

Wow! There's that homework I never did
And a pair of shoes I think I hid.
A purse, too
And some glue

Wow! With all that under there,
My mom will definitely have a scare.

Candle
By Kristen

A candle burns in the dim light.
Wax dripping like water
From a faucet

It glows in the hearth of the room.
Its glow giving warmth
And happiness to its surroundings.

The candle is like a snowman.
Melting.
Melting..
Melting
Until..it's gone.
