We can't help bragging about the Eisenhower team today. We were recognized for first time participation and students brought home medals in four events. Thirty-six middle schools participated. The championship was won by Community Middle School and Montgomery Middle School placed second.
It was a great experience. One student commented that most of the time he feels like a loser, but at the Science Olympiad, he finally felt like he belonged someplace. Overall, the team was enthusiastic, well-behaved, and represented Eisenhower with pride.
Thanks to the sixth and seventh grade science teachers for laying a strong foundation upon which we could build. Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of this initiative. It wouldn't have been possible without you. We look forward to improving next year and meeting a goal set by this year's team of capturing the state title in the next three years.
The science Olympiad team placed 18th overall. Check http://www.njsta.org/scienceolympiad/2003.htm for more information.
