Students in Mr. De Mase's art classes have recently completed lessons on the "Art of Mexico". Sixth grade students created Mexican Tin and seventh grader's made "Amate". "Amates" are sheets of tree bark where the people depict their world. Tin was used by humans as early as the Bronze Age. The indigenous people of Mexico used tin for making ornaments and other objects. Mexico's Tin Art is still very popular today. See the entire gallery of "amate" here and check out our school display located at the front entrance.
