Power of the Wind is funded by a an Environmental Education Grant from Public Service Gas and Electric.  The content of the project is the sole responsibility of the grant recipient.

Task 4.  What are the pros and cons for building wind farms?

Wind farms have been called the answer to reduction of dependence on carbon based fuels, a blight on the landscape, and bird cuisinearts. The debate over a wind farm in Nantucket Sound is the topic of the documentary "Wind Over Water."  You will watch and discuss this during class.

After watching "Wind Over Water." read the news articles, editorials, policy statements, and post ion papers listed below.  As you read the various viewpoints, make a list of the pros and cons for building wind farms.  Create note and reference cards using the style you learned in language arts class.   You will be writing your own opinion paper as the final task.   Your editorial article will need to reference factual information to support your position.
