Ancient Greece

"Legacy"

Introduction Task Procedure Resources Assessment Conclusion

Introduction:

What do you value in life?  If you could leave a mark on this world, what would you want it to be?  If you were going to be remembered for something, what would you want it to be?

A legacy is something that has been handed down from an ancestor or predecessor.   Do members of the world community share a common ancestry? Who are OUR ancestors and predecessors, and what was their legacy to us?

Conclusion:

Someday, future generations will look back on what we've left them, much of what we study about ancient cultures.  Do you think that our influence on future cultures will be as strong as that of the Greeks on our culture? What did your study of the ancient Greek culture tell you about their lives?  What conclusions did you draw about what the ancient Greeks valued and the legacy that they left behind?  Did this study help you understand more about the importance of a legacy?  Did it help you understand what you value in life?  Is your personal legacy important to you?  What would you want it to be?
