The World of Hurricanes
The Hurricane Rain Bands
The hurricane rainbands are large bands of clouds and precipitation that spiral around the eye wall. The rain bands consist of many little thunderstorms. A rainband may also have tornadoes. The hurricane rain band is the largest part of the hurricane. Most of the rain that comes from a hurricane falls from the rain band. The hurricane rain bands can let out one foot of rain daily and causes flooding in most cases. The rain bands produce fierce winds, but ther not as strong as the winds in the eye.
