| The sun is the source of heat of the ocean. Water holds heat energy better than land so the heat by the sun is obviously the first factor. As spring turns to summer, the oceans heat up and get to about 80 degrees Fahrenheit. This 80 degree mark is the temperature needed to support the development of a hurricane. | ||||||
