Staff Development Creating and Managing a Class Web Site
This course assists Eisenhower teachers in creating and managing their own class web site using templates. Teachers' web sites will include: class resource pages with links to relevant web sites, on-line handouts, PowerPoint presentations, exemplary student work and other curriculum information. Teachers will learn to develop resource pages, post curriculum and include PowerPoint presentations on the web site. Teachers will also learn to upload files to the web server and manage their own web site. Teachers will integrate their web site with their teaching for their class project.Course Outline and Handouts

Creating web pages that contain text files. Teachers will come to class with text files for their web site. We will learn how to copy a text file from a word processing program like AppleWorks or Word and paste the text onto a template web page. The pages will be saved and then linked to the teacher's home page.January 21, 2004
1. Creating web pages with links to other web pages. Teachers will research and bookmark web pages with content of value to their students. It is suggested that you use Internet Explorer. We will learn how to create a links page for your web site.2. Preparing PowerPoint Presentations, movie and sound files for the Web and placing them on web pages.

1. Working with Tables. Tables are a great way to organize information on your web page. We will learn how to create web pages that contain information in a table.2. Preparing Images for the Web and placing them on web pages. The three handouts below are for use with Adobe Photoshop Elements.
