Be an Entrepreneur
Now that we have finished learning about percents, you are ready to create some real-
world word problems.
Directions:
1. On an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper, design an advertisement for a store or restaurant of your own. The advertisement should have a name for your store, a location, and at least 6 items to be used in your word problems. Be creative!
2. Make sure your advertisement is attractive and neat. You may use drawings of your items and/or computer images. Plan ahead... there should be very little white space.
3. On another sheet of paper, create three word problems using your advertisement. The word problems should contain the use of percents (tips, discounts, commissions, markups, etc.).
4. On another sheet of paper, please write the answer and show the steps you used to find the answer.
