Language Arts & Math
Class Policies:
1. Overnight Homework Assignments - Students will be given homework Monday - Thursday. It may not be collected each day, but students will be earning a homework grade. Students should come to class prepared each day. Any late assignment will be given half credit.2. Long-Term Assignments - Students will be completing a number of long-term writing assignments. In addition to the final draft, students will also need to turn in organizers and drafts. The entire packet must be turned in on time. If the assignment is late, it will me marked down five (5) points for each day late.
3. Absences - Students are responsible for completing assignments missed due to an absence. It is the student’s responsibility to complete the work and turn it in to the teacher in a timely manner (two days). If a student needs work, he/she must pick up the work from the folders in the classroom. If a student is absent on test/ quiz day, the student should be prepared to take the test/quiz when he/she returns.
4. Student Work - Assignments will be returned to the student if it does not meet the teacher’s approval. Student work should be completed neatly and on time. If an assignment is written, then it should be in the student’s best cursive writing. The computer may also be used; please choose a font that is easy to read.
5. Participation - Attitude is everything! Students must always try their best and come to class prepared and ready to learn. I am aware that everyone may not love language arts, but I am going to try to make class as enjoyable as I can. Of course, I need your help!
