CHIMPANZEES

TO THE TUNE OF "ROW, ROW, ROW YOUR BOAT"

SICOMAC SCHOOL

The Pan troglodytes

Are the chimpanzees.

They live in twenty-one

African countries.

Faces range from pink to black,

They have long black hair,

Opposable thumbs and toes,

Bipedal walk is rare.

Chimpanzees are omnivores

That live for fifty years.

They measure four feet in height,

Encroachment is a fear.

They are our closest relative

With common DNA.

They live in groups of fifty chimps

And travel every day.

"Chimpanzee" means "mock man"

In the Bantu tongue.

Their future is endangered,

And now our song is sung.
