A
Take Me Out To Wyckoff
To the Tune of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”
By Ben and Julianne

Let me tell you ‘bout Wyckoff,
A town in Bergen County.
The Lenni Lenape inhabited this place,
Then came John and William Van Voor Haze.
And they built, built, built lots of houses.
Now we are 16,000 strong--
So it’s a great, great town; come on,
We’ll show you around.

Wyckoff was named in 1926.
By the Chamber of Commerce.
Many believe the name means high ground
But the meaning “water” was also found.
It is close, close, close to New York City.
But farming was also a claim.
They had 1, 2, 3 names throughout time
Now it’s Wyckoff’s fame.

Wyckoff has some old houses,
Thirteen to be precise.
One special one is the Zabriskie house,
Given to us by the Zabriskie spouse.
Now we learn, learn, learn at the museum.
If you don’t go it’s a sin.
'Cause from 9 to 3, Fridays it’s open,
See our Dutch past within.

Take me out to the best town,
Take me out with my friends.
Buy me some ice cream and cracker jacks,
My favorite school is Sicomac.
And it's root, root, root for my home town,
It's a great place to be!
Twenty-seven miles from New York City,
Wyckoff's the town for me!
