The Chocolate Song

To the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"

LINCOLN SCHOOL

Grow, grow, grow cacao
In the tropic’s heat,
Carefully, carefully, carefully, carefully,
Yields a scrumptious treat.

Cacao beans come from pods,
Resembling elongated melons,
Taking five years for the great fruit to grow,
White blossoms are sweet smellin’

Known to the Aztecs
When Columbus rowed ashore,
He brought it back for royalty,
And they wanted more!

Chocolatl was its name,
A warm liquid that thrilled.
Then sugar was added by Hernando Cortes,
But in Mexico he killed.

Milk was added by the Swiss,
The process was refined,
Now everyone enjoys chocolate’s benefits,
As precious as anything mined.

We can all appreciate
Chocolate’s varieties,
Providing quick energy for soldiers in war
Helping quell anxieties.
