GILA MONSTERS
to the tune of "Yankee
Doodle"
TAYLOR, MAX AND
SEAN
Gila monster's scientific name
Is heloderma suspectum
When one bites, the lower jaw
Ejects a deadly venom.
Mating season starts in summer
With males flicking their tongues,
When they find a female scent,
They start to have their young.
When gila monsters are born,
They are six inches long,
When they are grown up,
They're very, very strong.
Gila monsters are very slow
So human bites are rare,
If you happen to get bitten
The chance of living is fair.
Because they are so very slow
They eat eggs and small animals,
When they eat them they use
Their very strong mandibles.
They live in the desert
Underneath the ground,
This is probably why they are
Almost never found!
