George Washington

To the tune of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”
Jennifer and Stefan
In 1732,
George Washington was born,
Self-educated and reliable,
Too soon he had to mourn.
In 1743,
His poor father died
He inherited the Mount Vernon estate
For colonial rights he tried.

He became an officer
In 1753,
Commander of the Virginian Militia
He was filled with glee.
He had a strategic mind
Capable of daring plans
Commander of the Continental army during the Revolution
America’s leading man.
He was elected president
In 1789
He served two consecutive terms
In America’s heart he shines.
