Lemurs
By Lauren
To the tune of "Jingle
Bells"
Lemurs, lemurs,
Can weigh up to 15 pounds,
They spend most of their time in trees and bushes,
Their feet and bottoms scent the ground.
Lemurs, lemurs,
The smallest weighs one ounce,
They eat leaves, fruit, insects,too
And small animals they will pounce.
Lemurs are primates
You might've never guessed,
Because their habitats are being destroyed
environmentalists are doing their best.
Lemurs, lemurs,
have very long snouts
With flexible toes and fingers
They climb with never a doubt, Oh!
Lemurs, lemurs,
Display long bushy tails
In Madagascar they linger,
And from the Comores Islands they hail.
