English As A Second Language

Mrs. Feeney

The English as a Second Language Program is a state mandated developmental language program open to all students who either speak another language or who come from a home in which another language is spoken, regardless of where they were born.

The course is designed to aid the students in learning the target language competently while acclimation and acculturation take place. To reach our goals, we encourage the children to use English from the onset of the program and teach all material in the English language. The children develop their skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

E.S.L. students in Wyckoff represent countries in Asia, Europe, Central America, South America, and the Middle East.
