The Media Center is always a busy place. K- 5th graders visit weekly for a story/lesson. Junior Great Books discussions are provided by trained parent volunteers for students in grades 3-5. The first and fifth grade Book Buddy program encourages reading and demonstrates the enjoyment of sharing literature with others.

Washington School's TV news show, Washington's World, broadcasts from the Media Center every Friday morning on our closed circuit system. Fifth grade students are trained to be news reporters and production crew. The language arts program was the genesis of this undertaking and the experience teaches news gathering, writing, editing and technical skills as well as fostering poise in public speaking situations and calmness under pressure - on those occasions when the "live" show has last moment adjustments.
