We have been enjoying our literacy program where we learn strategies with

the help of shared picture books, core Spotlight stories, and directed independent

reading.  We have learned and used the strategies of connections (T-T, T-S,

and T-W), predicting, visualizing, questioning, and inferences in order to become

better readers.

       The class has also enjoyed using Flat Stanley as a guide for how creatively

we could create our own flat selves and go on adventures while writing in a

journal about our success.  We've now sent them to faraway places to have adventures,

and we can't wait until March 17th when they return.

         It's also time to start working on our biography studies and our culminating

activity, the Famous American PowerPoint presentation.  We're reading and taking

notes so we'll know how to be a famous person telling our story.
