| Homework is a time for parents to oversee their child's learning and reinforce lessons taught in school. Please help your child to establish a good homework routine that will serve your child well, later in his/her school life . Homework follows a predictable schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday Students sign out W.E.B. (Wonderfully Exciting Books) books from our class and school libraries. The book selected has been chosen by the student and may be read to, with, or by the child. In addition to a book for W.E.B. homework, your child will be assigned spelling homework (Monday), a math reinforcement skillsheet, handwriting practice, or a phonics assignment (Tuesday & Wednesday). Thursday Students take home their Language Folders. The story or poem found inside this folder is to be read to, with, or by your child three times. On the bottom of the page, they are to complete an illustration or the accompanying task. Always have your child read to you some of the other poetry/stories from past weeks. In addition to the Language Folder, students will be given a list of Word Wall Words to practice. Also, they are to study their spelling words in preparation for Friday’s post assessment. **Please continue to practice (+,-) math facts (0-10) frequently with your child. |
