The children attended a field trip to the Audubon, Lorrimer Sanctuary. At the Sanctuary, the children made apple cider by pressing and grinding apples using an apple press. It tasted delicious! They "adopted" a tree and made bark and leaf rubbings. The children learned about the growing cycle of tress and used their five senses to compare the different types of trees at the Sanctuary. Back in the classroom, the children reinforced their learning by sorting apples by size, color, and type. The children had a great time! Thank you to the parents who joined us for the trip!
